Introducing the Coaching Team

Geoff Mascall

UKCC Level 2 Coach

I currently serve with Wiltshire County Badminton Association as Juniors Coordinator, on Mid-Wilts Community Badminton Network and as Chair of Aero Badminton Club.

My interest in coaching began many years ago and my current status as a UKCC Level 2 Coach represents the culmination of a desire to develop badminton as a recreational sport for all and to ensure all juniors have access to top quality coaching to enable them to achieve their full potential in an exceptional sport.

I directly support Hardenhuish School, and am proud to have helped their KS3 girls to become County Champions for the past three years, Regional Champions in the 2015/16 season ( the first time any team from Mid-Wilts has ever achieved this) and ending the season coming 7th in England (out of 32,500 competitors), a truly great achievement for the players, the school and the county.

Terry Robinson

UKCC Level 2 Coach

I took up playing badminton fairly late in life, in my sixties, still needing to keep fit doing something that I enjoy.

In recent years I gained my UKCC Level 2 coaching accreditation with a view to encourage youngsters into the sport by delivering after school badminton clubs in the local secondary schools.

My aim is to increase the number of primary school children into the sport and get satisfaction through seeing them develop and progress.

Currently I am the Treasurer of Aero Badminton Club and session manager at Hardenhuish club nights.

Ian Baber

UKCC Level 1 Assistant Coach

I started playing badminton as a beginner at our Melksham venue five years ago. I was looking for a new sport that I could play all year round, was challenging but enjoyable, inexpensive, and has a social element - badminton ticked all the boxes.

I volunteered with the club overseeing the running of the Melksham venue and joining the committee. I also started the journey of becoming an accredited badminton coach (currently UKCC Level 1), and enjoy assisting and learning from the more experienced coaches on our team.

Rob Lewis

UKCC Level 1 Assistant Coach

RobLewis.PNG Having played badminton to county standard as a junior I took a 25 year break before joining Aero as a member around 18 months ago. I have been helping with junior coaching and junior play night for over a year. I have now gained my level one and look forward to helping develop our players now and in the future.
